The retail and crypto unfriendly SEC chair will resign next year.
Donald Trump said he was going to fire Gary Gensler, the SEC chair that dodged questions about MMTLP in multiple hearings, on day one of his administration.
Looks like Gary isn’t going to let that happen as he’s submitted his resignation for January 20, 2025.
Pretty much everyone in the community is rejoicing this resignation.
Retail investors have issued a “farewell” letter to Gary as reported by X Market News, the new personality of Meta News.
Other SEC employees are following suit. SEC Commissioner Jaime Lizárraga has just resigned. Will Hester Peirce be resigning next?
An official announcement on Gary’s replacement hasn’t been announced. Based on Trump’s stance, it will likely be someone more retail and crypto friendly who can investigate naked short selling in the markets.
This is all positive news for an MMTLP Resolution in 2025.
