JunkSavvy posted a tweet suggesting that E-trade may have a new directive to get all shares away from their brokerage and to AST (EQ).
One user, n00brian says in the comments that he can confirm his shares were sent against his wishes. But the rest of the comments contain mostly people saying that their shares are stlil with the brokerage.
Krucialmix noted that he recently sent all of his E-trade shares to AST, except for an IRA account. The IRA shares are still on E-trade, he reported.
We’d recommend that everyone keep and eye on their E-trade shares, and perhaps a proactive phone call might be in order.
This information comes just days after bad press for E-trade and many other brokers. Services have been unavailable from some brokers during peak trading times for retail investors, but of course, not institutional investors.
