Some of the remaining MMTLP court cases are starting to see new developments.
In Traudt v. Atkins, the judge has agreed to halt discovery until the SEC’s typical motion to dismiss is addressed.
And in the MMAT bankruptcy case, which holds much promise for actual discovery in the MMTLP case the Nevada courts have set a hearing:
A hearing is set for September 4, 2025, where Citadel Securities, Anson Funds Management, and Virtu Financial seek to quash subpoenas or obtain a protective order in the Meta Materials Inc. bankruptcy case. Tensions are rising over the ability to enter much-needed discovery.
And just today, we found out that FINRA is begging the court not to move forward with any discovery. What a surprise. George Palikaras has a few thoughts on FINRA’s comical filing.
Jeff Pittman on X has thoroughly analyzed (through GROK) FINRA’s filing and is available here.
